Welcome to my first blog post! I am so excited to start this journey and share everything I know about holistic living with you.
My name is Kendra, and I am the one behind the Healing Soulfully brand.
In Healing Soulfully’s first blog post, I will be introducing myself and sharing a little about why I started blogging and what I’m aiming to achieve through it.
A Little About Me
I am a wife and Goldendoodle Mom from a small southern town in Ontario Canada.
Having grown up in the country with my two older brothers, I always loved being outside and exploring.
My brothers and I were raised vegan, as my parents had started learning about veganism in the 90’s. When I was around age 8 or 9 our family transitioned to being vegetarian, and I was vegetarian until my late teens.
At that point, I tried meat for the first time.
The conclusion was…. I thought it was okay.
At that time, I remember thinking it wasn’t as good as people made it out to be. But I’ve grown to enjoy it over the years as I’ve learned how to cook.
I was also home-schooled until about age 10 when I started public school. My influence for starting school came from my oldest brother who started high school, and I obviously wanted to be just like him.
A few weeks in the school system and I could tell you it wasn’t as fun as I thought it was going to be.
I did however make a lot of friends and overall enjoyed the schooling experience.
From the Very Beginning
There is a photo in one of our family albums where I was just over 1 year old, wearing only diapers, standing on a chair with my baby belly pushed up against the kitchen table drinking what my Dad called “green juice”, from a straw.
This was in 1997.
Before green juice was a “thing”.
And I can confidently tell you the kind of green juice my Dad made us wasn’t what most people drink today.
There was rarely any fruit in it and there would often be dandelions and other wild yard-grown plants in it.
And it was thick from all the veggies and leafy greens. Definetly something you had to get used to.
Our family and friends still joke today that the consistency more closely resembled swamp water than juice.
With all that said my family was one of the first in the area to live this sort of lifestyle, and I remember feeling not too popular in the school system for being “different”.
We ate avocado toast in the 90’s and early 2000’s before it was social media famous, and we made “frosty’s” for breakfast. “Frosty’s” are pretty much smoothies made with lots of frozen fruit, nuts & seeds, and sometimes vegetables and greens.
Most of the time thick enough to eat with a spoon.
These days I still call them frosty’s and people look at me strangely for thinking I’m eating a Wendy’s ice cream dessert for breakfast.
Fast forward to 27-year-old Kendra and here we are!
Now I live my life with a balanced approach through nutrition, exercise, and holistic living.
How the Blog Got Started
Not only is this my first blog post, but also my first ever blog. It’s been an idea developing in my mind for years.
Since I was young I’ve always wanted to do something in the health industry, but life took me on a little detour until this point. Now I’ve decided I’m going all in and creating the life I want and deserve.
I want to have a life I’m proud of and be a person I’m proud to be. This includes spending my time doing things I am passionate about, and that is holistic health and wellness.
Overall I’m here to share everything I know with you and help you live a more holistic lifestyle.
I believe we are all guests on this beautiful earth, and we need to treat it with respect as well as treat our bodies with respect. If we want this planet to last for many generations down the road, we need to start by protecting it.
Nourish the land we live on, and the bodies we live in.

Why Blogging & What it’s all About
I chose to start my blog because I am passionate about health, wellness, and everything holistic/natural living. and I want to share with you that you don’t have to live a life full of illness and dis-ease, dependent on medication.
Basically, I want to give women the know-how to take their health into their own hands. Sharing everything I’ve learned over the years.
To show that you can be the leader in your life and feel confident that you’re capable of making decisions about your health and wellness.
No one knows your body better than you.
The truth is that sometimes health professionals in Western medicine will only try to fix the symptoms you are experiencing and not necessarily the root cause of your illness itself.
Here you will learn ways to take charge of your health through nourishing your body and mind, inside and out. Fixing the root cause of illness and preventing future dis-ease.
I will be sharing healthy recipes and exercise programs that you can try out for yourself. Teaching you about nutritious foods, herbs, and teas, and the healing powers they can provide us.
Showing you all the ways you can use natural cleaning products around your home, instead of chemically filled cleaners.
Inspiring you to use natural remedies if you or someone in your family becomes unwell.
Helping you become the best version of yourself through mental wellness tips, self-care, mindfulness & more!
